Chicagoland MG Club: Driveline February 2009
Driving Events Planning Meeting
Sunday, February 8, 2009
Mack’s Golden Pheasant

If you have had an idea for a driving event, or would like to coordinate or sponser a driving event please join us. Seth Jones, Driving Events Coordinator will be hosting a Driving Events Planning Meeting on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at 2:00 PM. It will be held at Mack’s. Anyone interested in hosting a driving event, assisting someone else to do so, or if you have any suggestions or ideas for us you should plan on attending this meeting. This meeting will help determine which events we will be holding as a club as well as creating the calendar of events for the driving season. The meeting is open to all club members.

I know it is very early for the next couple of items but I wanted to be sure that all members had an opportunity to get time blocked out on their calendars. - Bill

14th Annual Camping Trip to Road America - July 17-19, 2009

There is still snow on the ground and July is far, far away but Plymouth Rock is accepting our camping reservations for July 17 and July 18, leaving on Sunday July 19. Please phone Brenda at 920-892-4252 and tell her you are with the Chicagoland MG Club in the Green Circle (sites 100-111). Brenda will most likely hold the sites for a few weeks, then release them to the general populace. The cost is $97.65 for two persons for both nights.
Other places to stay include the Sheboygan County Park at the intersection of J and P northwest of Elkhart Lake ($25 with power, $ 15 without). We plan to check the nightly mosquito population by having supper at Marsh Lodge on Friday night after the racing car concours this year. We were there during the day last year and the mosquitoes did not seem too bad, but were disappointed to find that the rooster tails from the hydroplane races were really campers driving from $15 sites. The more expensive sites are raised above the water table. It is a marsh, after all. The telephone number is 920-876-2535 for reservations and is the same as for the bar/restaurant. There are also the established hotels of Elkhart Lake, but these go for $450 per night during race weekend, and most of these were reserved last year for 2009. There is camping at RoadAmerica, but you may have to purchase a superticket in addition to the camping fee. Phone RoadAmerica at 800-365-7223 to find out.
Please pass this on to any other Club Members who may be interested heading to Road America this year.

Phone Ann or Jake at 847-295-2753 or e-mail at
snyder@chicagolandmgclub.com if you have questions.
