John Schroeder Greetings everyone!

Our annual business and awards meeting is behind us which means the warm weather and driving season is almost here. By the time you read this the 9th Annual All British Swap Meet will be history. I am sure a good time was had by all and a lot of garages cleaned out as others added a few needed parts.

There are two opportunities to help get your cars ready for the driving season coming up. The first is at United Classic Motors in Naperville on Sunday, March 13. Cowboy is open to request of things to cover and mentioned bringing a B to show what to look for when looking to purchase a classic sports car. The second is the annual Spring Tune-up Party on Sunday, April 17, at Quality Tire on Route 83 in Willowbrook. This is a great opportunity to get you car up on a lift to change the oil and check it over before the driving season. We also have a luncheon at a local pub before calling it a day. We are asking that you try to limit your time on the lift to minor maintenance. If you have anything major you need help to do, contact Dave to schedule a tech session.

The Chicagoland MG Club has a substantial driving calendar again. We had a good turnout at the driving meeting last month. Check the calendar because this year every scheduled event has a volunteer or two to plan it. If you were at the meeting you know the Lands End rally is back. Tom has a history of planning new and different rallies. You will be hearing more as the year progresses. We do not have a rally or tour scheduled in July since we don t have anyone to organize one. It is not too late to add one to the schedule if you have some roads you would like to introduce us to.

The first club driving event is an autocross at the Warrenville cinemas. This will be April 24th, the week after the Spring tune-up. I haven t tried an autocross before, but this may be my year. The following Saturday, we will be off again on our Spring Tour. Be sure to add these events to your calendar.

Speaking of driving, my son and I are heading to St. Louis on March 18th for OUR first DRIVING EVENT, the Missouri Endurance Rally. This is the 10th annual rally and is held with the 3rd annual Mini Endurance Rally. Some of our members are looking for codrivers. Let me know if you are interested in participating and I will send you information.

We have a great driving season on the calendar. I hope you can attend most of our events and maybe get to some of the other events you can find on our web site.

These are wonderful cars to drive and you won t find nicer people anywhere. Join us for fun drives and great camaraderie this year. I know you will have a good time.

See you on the road!
