Spring Chicken Tour
Lake Geneva, WI
Sunday, May 17, 2009

Come hang out with some A’s, B’s, C’s, T’s and Midgets…what could be better?

2008 Spring Chicken Tour
It was a real shame having to spend this beautiful weekend driving my MG all around the Lake Geneva area to finalize a tour route for the upcoming Spring Chicken Tour. The sun was out, top was down and my trusty navigator had a clipboard handy to make notes, track mileage, locate landmarks and tally travel times.
We will run it just like last year; we’ll start the tour by meeting at Bill’s cottage in Lake Geneva at 10:30 AM, Sunday May 17th. Then we head out west around Lake Delevan at 11:00 AM then up through one of the lower sections of the Kettle Moraine Valley. Our route this year will be through some small (actually very small town sections of historic Delevan), through rolling farm fields and winding around through the Whitewater Lake area of the Kettle Moraine; the speed limits vary from 25-55 MPH (the vast majority is 25-35).
After the driving tour we will meet back at Bill’s for a grilled chicken extravaganza and food spread. I will be providing a full lunch including the sandwiches, side dishes, desert and drinks (pop and water). I will NOT be providing alcoholic beverages due to it being a club event (feel free to bring your own if you would like, there will be plenty of ice, and storage is available). There will be a small cost per person ($7.00) to help cover the expenses.
The fire will be lit just in case (but I have it on very good authority that the weather will be great). It will be a great atmosphere for being together with our cars and our friends, maybe meet some new friends, swap some stories.
Last year we had 15 cars join us on the tour. This year we have asked the Vintage Club to join us. They will be in Lake Geneva for their weekend excursion. Come out and join us and get up close and personal with those beautiful T-series MG’s. It should be quite a car show that we put on for the local residents!!! ?Since food is involved, I really need to have a confirmation for the number of people that will be joining us. Please email Bill Reece to confirm. After confirmation I will email back directions to my cottage in Lake Geneva. I have three (3) different sets included (Interstate, Route 12 or for the far west ‘burbs, Route 47).
