MINUTES FOR MEETING
May 19, 2003

    The meeting was called to order at 8:01 by Bill Hedrich. There were 33 members in attendance. Two new members, Doug Clark, owner of a “TF” and Mark Michael, looking for a chrome bumper “B” were at the meeting. Also, an old member, Rob Bard, came for his first meeting after being a member for 9 years.

OLD BUSINESS

Mike Hirsch     Dave Bralich talked about a tech session on a ZS carb.
    Don Anderson described the Spring Tour, which was put on by Paul Urquardt and enjoyed by all attendance.
    Mike Hirsch talked our first rally of the year, our Spring Chicken Rally. First Place was taken by Mike and Ellen Hirsch, second by Gary Maves and Mark Dupree and third by Bud Yaeger.
    George Goeppner talked about a change in the 50/50 raffle. The proceeds of the raffle will now be donated to the Mercy Home for Boys. He is also encouraging members to donate model car kits. Please bring them to the club meeting over the next several months. He will then take them to the Mercy Home in time for the holidays. Ideally the models should be about 1/24 scale. Please do not donate glue or paint.

NEW BUSINESS

    Tom Josefek talked about the upcoming Land’s End Rally to be held 6/8. It will be a one day event, Sunday only. The starting point is the Wisconsin Welcome Center off I90, Drivers’ meeting at 9:30, first car off at 10:00. According to Tom, this rally will be totally different. Please bring a compass. It will end at the TA travel center in Marengo. The estimated mileage will be 100-200 miles with a stop for lunch near a town.
    Our annual Family Cart Night will be 6/10 at Just Fun off Route 83. It will start at 7:00. Our monthly Natter Noggin will follow.
    Barney Gaylord will be hosting a tech session for a steering rack rebuild on 6/14. Talk to Barney for more information.
    The Miata CMGC Invitational Autocross will be on 6/15 at the Zion-Benton High School. If you wish to particpate you must fill out the the “Requst to Participate” form available on line.
    May 25 will be the Austin Healey Club’s Spring Ghymkhana. At the AMC Cantera 30 Theater parking lot. All members are invited to attend.
    The Windy City Morgan Owners Club is having their Gymkhana on June 1st at the MGA Research facility in Burlington, Wisconsin. Fee is $30 per car ($10 for each additional adult) which includes lunch. Please preregister.
    The June 18th through 22nd is the annual NAMGBR convention in St. Louis. If you are planning to attend and wish to join the caravan down old Rt 66 contact Bill Hedrick, Kim Tonry or John Schroder. This Caravan will leave on Wednesday. If you wish to leave Thursday or Friday morning, please contact Jim Evans.
    Our annual Road America camping trip is 7/18-20. Contact Jake or Ann Snyder for more information.
    There was no 505/50 raffle.
    The meeting ended with a slide show presented by the Snyder’s of previous trips to Road America.
