The Steering Column from (one of) your co-chairmen

William 'Wilbur' Mennell Ann and Jake Snyder did it again, another great camping trip to Road America in the Kettle Moraine Valley for the historic races. The weekend was a combination social outing and a trip to a sports car museum. But in this museum the cars get to do what they were designed to do, run fender to fender over a four mile road course. The weather was beautiful. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I decided to stay up north in “God’s Country” for another week. But trying to deal with a jammed septic system and a collapsing outhouse was not quite the fishing trip that I had envisioned.

Don’t forget that coming up this month is the Abingdon Summer Party. There is still time to make your reservations if you haven’t already done so. And if the Famous Abingdon Gymkhana isn’t enough for those with a heavy right foot, there is another chance to test your mettle (and your MG’s metal) at the Warrenville AMC Autocross later in the month. Try to get out and enjoy these summer events. See you there.

Wilbur
