MINUTES FOR MEETING
October 29, 2003

    The meeting was called to order at 8:05 by Bill Mennell. There were 38 members in attendance. Among these were two new members, Rick Guerra, ‘60MGA and Andy Chizzo, ’75 MGB.

PAST EVENTS

Dave Lieb talked about the AHCA Fall Gymkhana held on Sept. 21. He also talked about the Lucas Night Rally, held on Sept. 27th. There were 4 MG’s and 4 Miatas in the competition.
Mike Olsen talked about the Fall Color Tour held on Oct, 12th. It was a fun tour, with good weather, about 20 cars attended. A stop was made at the John Deere Historical Museum.
Bill Mennell talked about the Last Gasp Gymkhana held on Oct. 19th. There were 13 cars in attendance.

UPCOMING EVENTS

The Halloween Rally will be held Oct. 26th.
We will have our Fall Tune Down Party on Nov. 9th at Al Piemonte Ford, in Melrose Park. It will begin at 9:00 AM. Contact Dave Bralich if you have questions.
Sometime in November, we will do a complete stripdown of an MG. Details to come.
Nov 27th, Thanksgiving Morning, is our annual Cruise to the Rock in honor of the first automobile race in the US.
December 13th, Saturday, is our annual Christmas party. We need reservations by December 1st. Cost is $25 per person for a family style meal. Cash Bar. We will have an optional grab bag. Contact Dave Ransom if you have questions or visit our web site.

Mike Hirsch OLD BUSINESS

Dave Ransom talked about regalia. We have vests for $32, ($35 for XXL) and new pocket T’s for $16 (XXL for $19).
George Goeppner reminded us that the November meeting is the last time we will be able to bring our donations of models for the Mercy Home for Boys. Please donate models only, no paint or glue.

NEW BUSINESS

Elections are coming up and will be coordinated by Jim Evans. The following names were put into nomination.
Secretary, Mike Hirsch, nominated by Dave Ransom, seconded by Kelvin Palmer.
Treasurer, Dave Mullis declined to run again. No name was put into nomination at this time.
Vice President, Bill Hedrich declined to run again. Wade Keene was nominated by Dave Bralich and seconded by Ann Snyder.
President, Bill Mennell, nominated by Ann Snyder, seconded by Maynard Hirsch.
If you wish to run for an office or know someone who you feel would be able to handle the job, please talk to either Jim Evans or any of the officers. Nominations will be closed during at our November meeting.

Maynard Hirsch won the 50/50 raffle, a prize of $33.
We finished the meeting with Champagne and Cake to celebrate the club’s 27th anniversary.
