Don’s Auto Aid (Goodyear) has invited the club back for our annual spring tune-up party. This is the same location we were at last year. Here’s your chance to put your MG up on a service rack and give the underside a good inspection. Smelling salts will be available for those who faint after seeing their car’s condition. And the Warrenville paramedics will be on call for anyone with a heart condition. Not available will be 20w50 oil and filters, so bring your own. You can also get a wheel alignment (bring your own specs) on state of the art equipment and wheels balanced, including wires. If you partake in these services, I’m sure you will show your gratitude with a generous tip.

The scheduled date is Saturday May 9, 12 noon until 4 PM. With up to seven racks available, we can get a lot of cars done. First come, first served. MGs have priority over members’ other LBCs. Check with the Pit Boss (Cowboy) before starting any non-routine maintenance projects. All work must be completed. Don’s is located at 2S781 Rt 59 in Warrenville, about a mile north of the East-West I 88 toll road.

The after tune-up critique will be held at Rock Bottom Brewery, 28256 Diehl Road in Warrenville, 1630 hrs. This is located by the north west corner of Winfield and Diehl Rds. immediately south of the E/W Tollway exit. This is where CMGC and the Healey club have held autocrosses. Food and drink. Have a pint, snack or dinner, and take home a growler. We will not be responsible for those who may end up at the Twisted Knickers-Tilted Kilt next door.

Spring Tour 2015
Pontiac, Illinois
May 15, 16, 17, 2015

Travel down historic Route 66 to car club friendly historic Pontiac. We will visit the Pontiac/Oakland Automobile Museum and have a behind the scene tour. There is a Route 66 Museum, the Livingston County War Museum, the Museum of the Gilding Arts, the Walldog Mural Museum. There is the Livingston County Courthouse and historic homes to visit.

On Saturday there will be a cruise night that brings cars from miles around. The Model T and Model A Club will be in town for the day.

We will be staying at the Best Western. 815-842-2777 A block of rooms has been reserved. Mention the Vintage MG Car Club. The release date is April 15. (Make your reservation and then do your taxes.)
