President Bill Reece opened the meeting at 8:01. Bill welcomed members and guests to the CMGC anniversary meeting.

Car Projects
Jim Evans informed the membership that he is hoping to continue rebuilding an engine this weekend for his 1977 MGB that has been in renovation for a number of years. A new camshaft is ‘in the mail’ and hopefully will arrive this weekend. If so, then he will offer an invitation to any members interested in watching the rebuild from a ‘short block’ to a completed engine. Bill Reece will send out an email to the membership if this weekend is a ‘go’.
Vic L’Heureux remarked that he feels he has finally found the culprit of his MGB starting problem. A very corroded generator output terminal was inhibiting enough current to keep up the battery charge. Penny hopes this will mean this will be the last of her push-starting role.

Past Events
Southwest Suburban Garage Tour – 9/25 - Dino Perez remarked that 24 participants toured five locations hosted by members in Western Springs, Downers Grove and Naperville. Weather was misty in the morning but turned into a great day. Plans are ‘in the works’ for a new tour next spring.

Fall Color Tour –10/8-9 – Dan Herman noted that a tour was decided to be a ‘go’ on short notice. Even though the attendance was low – 3 cars – the event was great with spectacular foliage views. Some members noted that they wanted to attend but were unable to find lodging in the area for the event.

Halloween Rally – 10/30 – This year’s 2-1/2 hour tour will start in Prospect Heights at 10:00 am and end at Flatlander’s Restaurant & Brewery. This will be a great driving event. No ghosts to chase this time...

Fall Tune-down & Chili Party – 11/6 – Dave Bralich noted the event will take place at his house and garage with a cauldron of chili for all attending. The event will start at 9:00 and conclude around 3 pm. Dave asked that if there were any member with a special maintenance they would like to do to contact him.

Charity Oil Change Day – 11/19 – Reinout Vogt will again coordinate this event with “Journeys from PADS to HOPE” and Dave’s Auto Clinic in Mt. Prospect. CMGC members will assist with changing oil and performing safety check of vehicles of many homeless people in the area.

Cruise to the Rock – 11/24 – Jake & Ann Snyder noted that this event will start at 9 am at the rock. A drive to a local restaurant will take place after the event.

Holiday Party – 12/3 – Ralph Arata stated we will be at the Bella Vista Banquets & Catering in Bensenville this year. The membership of Vintage MG Car Club of Chicago will also attend the event. The fees are less this year and plenty of parking.

New Business
Election Nominations
Nominations for staff positions were accepted during today’s meeting. Additional nominations will be accepted until the November CMGC meeting.

Meeting adjourned at 8:45 pm to partake in anniversary cake and champagne.

50/50 Raffle – Roger Goebbert went home $13 richer.
