Chicagoland MG Club: Driveline November 2017

Newer Directions

We have only (2) two more events left for the 2017 Driving Events Season. The Fall Tune Down – taking place Sunday, November 5th and the Cruise to the Rock taking place Thursday, November 24th. There will be details in this issue.

Both events have been on the calendar and has been successful turnouts throughout the years! Hope many of you will take your MG’s out for what’s left of the “driving” season and enjoy both or at least one of these events!!

Although the weather is so unpredictable in our lovely city, it will be very gratifying to cruise to the rock, hopefully on a crisp, but mild sunny sky weather and consecrate the anniversary of the 1st automobile race in North America on Thanksgiving Day in 1895.

I am very excited to present the 2017 Moss Motors Trophy and the Victoria British Trophy as well as other miscellaneous awards this upcoming Annual Holiday Party, Saturday, December 2nd at the Wheatstac at Seven Bridges in Lisle. Hope to see many of you there!!!

The “RACE” for both prestigious trophies are once again VERY close!

For the OVERALL MOSS MOTORS: Dean & Kerry Hickenlooper are in 1st place with 34 points, followed by Steve Sparks & Jodi Simmons with 28.5 points and trailing right behind them in 3rd place is Bill Kalafut & Jean Heasley with 25.5 points.

For the VICTORIA BRITISH: Dean & Kerry Hickenlooper go for the gusto to take on this trophy as well – residing in 1st place with 19.0 points followed by Jim Compton amp; Bob Dorely with 13.5 points and trailing by a half a point from them in 3rd place is Steve Sparks & Jodi Simmons with 13.0 points.

It’s a tight race and depending on participation attendance for these last two events….who knows who will “capture” the GRAND TROPHIES!!

As the winter months approach us, which we all do not want to think about, try to access which events you all enjoyed and would like to see remain on the calendar and also reach out to me anytime with any new ideas for the upcoming 2018 driving season.

I hope to do as good as a job in my new position as Events Coordinator as our very dear and MUCH MISSED friend Reinout did!! I welcome and look forward to any input you may have. I can easily be reached on my cell phone (312)927-3155 or email:
