2022 Halloween Rally
Saturday, October 29, 2022

The spookiest part of the day was the chilly morning, but Rally Master Doug Clark called in his best magic by organizing a mid-day start to a most splendid through the southwest suburbs.

There were 16 cars holding a total of 32 hobgoblins (but some chose to come as themselves). This was a joint CMGC and VMGCCC event with 12 MGs present: 7 Bs, and one each of A, YB, Midget, TF, and TD. We began in Willowbrook by socializing and judging our fellow participants while warming up in the sunshine. Doug played DJ as we had to ‘name-that-tune/singer’ for extra-credit points before heading out for a 3-hour tour.

The route was well planned and took us through beautiful forest preserves, impressive neighborhoods, and towns. Questions to be answered along the way were challenging in addition to counting cemeteries (of course, it’s Halloween!). We did have one rest stop to identify car parts, somewhat obvious ones and some obscure. At least we didn’t have to name the Moss part numbers.
