July 5 - The town of Chicken (population 37) on the Taylor Highway north of Tok. Most of the town is in this picture. The Chicken Mercantile Emporium is on the left. Next in line is Chicken Liquor Store, where it is illegal to consume alcoholic beverages on the premisis. Next door (with a pass through door from the liquer store) is the Chicken Creek Saloon. The Chicken Creek Cafe is a nice 50's style place with plain wood everything, plaid table clothes, juke box, and home made pie. The newcomer to the strip mall is the Salmon bake, just opened and still without a sign. Just out of view to the right was a small horse and a mule, common transportation to the mall.
