"I used your list of MG and British car workshops in North America for a GT6 restoration that I am finishing up (2+ years). I am in eastern Idaho and was using shops on your list in Boise and Portland, OR when I stumbled on a fantastic father and son shop in my own town (Idaho Falls) and recommend that it be included in your list. The father (Tom) is retired but spends most of his days in the shop, he has an encyclopedic knowledge of all things British and even raced various Brit cars in the '60's. Mike (son) is the owner-operator.
I removed the GT6 body and delivered a rolling chassis which they completely disassembled. I took the frame back to my shop and they sent the engine to a local builder. I sand blasted the frame, welded on new outriggers and primed and painted it, then returned it to them. They restored everything to new condition. Suspension, brakes, steering rack, rebuilt the carbs, re-cored the radiator, installed the engine, trans (I took that to British Motor Care in Portland, OR), clutch & drive train. Everything new or re-built, down to every nut and bolt. Incredible attention to detail.
Every time I go into their shop they have an interesting classic in one of their bays, MGAs and Bs, TR6 and Spits, Big Healeys and an 100-4, the occasional Jag. They even work on my late model Land Rover. They have a unique skill set, charge 'small town' prices and are fair and honest".
