Some people like wide whitewall tires on an MGA, but discover they are either impossible to find in the desired tire size or may be undesirably expensive. There is a perfectly legitimate period accessory to solve this problem. It is called Whitewall Flaps. It ranks right up there with fuzzy dice on the mirror or a fox tail on the antenna. They may not be perfect when viewed up close, and they may not like scuffing a curb, but the are replaceable. They work fairly well with vintage type bias ply tires, maybe not so well with lower profile radial tires. For a current source see:
