a series of ads
NON-MG ads:
Back in 1960, Bryclreem in Canada were giving away 15 MGAs as prizes for whoever comes up with a product slogan. There was this listing for the contest stand-up banner.

"Brylcreem...a little dab'll do ya"!

"I dug a bit and found a couple of newspaper ads, one from 1959 and one from 1960,
advertising Brylcreem MGA contests. It would appear that there were two giveaways for what were dubbed "Brylcreem Red MGA's", most likely Chariot Red or Orient Red as I doubt that these cars would have been painted a special color. Now there's no quantity of cars listed for the 1959 contest, but for the 1960 contest there were 15 cars, and the wording implies that this is a higher number than the previous giveaway. I searched for potential winners, but could not find any as of yet".
It would appear that these Brylcreem contests were also held in the U.S. This 1962 advertisement was for 15 MGA's and cash or a tiger being given away. I wonder how many winners actually took the tiger! And I did find a post about one winner in Canada; here it is:
"My brothers friends dad has one that he has owned since new, he won it in a Brylcreem contest. It looks a bit ratty but is completely original".
