Original BMC part number for the steering universal joint assembly is AHH6000, while BMC part number for the journal insert is 17H3873.

Generic dimensions (in inches) for the steering U-joint journal are:
    Bearing cap diameter = 0.750-in. (19.04mm)
    Width across caps = 2.046-in. (51.98mm)

This U-joint assembly has been generally not available at least as early as 2017, and maybe earlier. the Journal assembly (spider) is still available, so with a little patience you can rebuild an original assembly. It is the same procedure as for replacing a U-joint spider in the propshaft PS-202 (just smaller parts).

One problem that may occur is wear in the mounting splines either or both ends due to running loose on the splines. The factory did issue a Confidential Service Memorandum Slackness In The Steering Column Universal Joint as intended cure for this issue. But if you can't get it to bolt up tight to the splined shafts, you might as well toss it in the dust bin and look for a better used part,

Now the bit that really gets my goat is the part most commonly being sold as a replacement for the original U-joint. The spider in this thing is so small that I would hardly trust it to be used in a go-cart. No way I would ever install this in a road going car. I tried to buy a new U-joint several years ago, took one look at it and put it back on the counter with some appropriate comment, with the hope that the vendor would understand the issue and discontinue sales of this totally inadequate part. Apparently it didn't take, and by now this part has worked its way into the distribution system pretty much world wide, but I still won't buy it.
