2/18/02 MEETING REPORT

The meeting was called to order at 8:02 by Dave Bralich. There were 42 members and guests in attendance.

OLD BUSINESS

Mike Hirsch     The awards banquet held Feb. 18 was reviewed. It was agreed that the location, food and Facililties were very satisfactory. The same location was booked for the club Christmas party.
    Speaking of the Chrsitmas party, we are looking for a volunteer to take over the arrangements. If interested, contact Oscar or Diane Gonzalez or Dave Bralich.
    Barney Gaylord talked about his recent tech session on R&R of a windshield on his MGA.

NEW BUSINESS

    Steve Merical has to resign as Technical Session coordinator. Maynard Hirsch volunteered to take over the position. Please contact him if you have any suggestions or wish to host/present a tech session.
    Jim Evans reviewed the upcoming swap meet. As of today, 93 spots are reserved, compared to 83 at this time last year.
    Kelvin Palmer talked about the free driving school offered by the North Suburban Sports Car Club in conjunction with the Midwestern Council of Sports Cars. It will be held the last 4 Fridays in March at the Holiday Inn in Rolling Meadows.
    The next technical session is scheduled at Al Piemonte Ford on March 16th. Topic is to be determined. [NOTE: This event has been cancelled. Details in tech article]
    Larry Daniels reviewed regalia.
    The Missouri Endurance Rally is coming up. Dave Lieb talked about it. This year it will be about 30 check points and will be limited to the Ozarks. This year it will be limited to About 15 hours vs 27 hours last year.
    The annual British Car Fest will be held on September 8th at Morraine Valley college.
    Kelvin Palmer attended John Twist’s transmission rebuild seminar and discussed this for us. Jake and Ann Snyder attended John Twist’s complete tune up seminar. This included mechanical, carburetion and ignition systems. They highly recommended this To all members.
    The meeting was adjourned at 9:00.
