MINUTES FOR MEETING
May 17, 2004
The meeting was called to order at 8:10 by Bill Mennell, We had 37 members present. There were 2 new members, Bob Ryan, ’62 White MGA, and Larry Carlson, ‘50TD.
PAST EVENTS
April 24 was the windshield day at Dave Bralich’s. It was successful and Dave thanks all who came and helped.
April 25 was our annual Spring Tune Up Party at Quality Tire in Darien. Approximately 30 cars attended.
May 2 was our Spring Chicken Rally. Ten cars attended. The weather started out good and ended up with a monsoon like rainstorm.
May 16 was our Spring Autocross. We had 11 cars and 12 drivers. Great weather. It was complimented by an impromptu tech session when Wade Keene’s car needed a new fuel pump.
UPCOMING EVENTS
May 22 will be the emissions tuning at Dave Bralich’s. We expect a large turnout.
May 28-30 is the annual Champagne British Car Festival.
May 22-30 is the annual British Car Week. Get your car out and drive it.
May 30 is the Healy Autocross at the AMC theaters in Warrenville.
June 5 and 6 we are having MG Maintenance 101. Contact Dave Bralich for more information.
June 8 is our Let’s Go Karting night. It will be held just before our monthly Natter Noggin.
June 12 will be the Algonquin Hill Climb. It is open to all early cars. Let’s show support to our members who compete.
June 13 is the Joliet Autocross. Check the website for more details.
June 20 is the Miata/MG autocross. Check the website for details. Preregistration is required.
June 20 is the Sussex, WI British Car Field Day.
June 20 a caravan will be leaving for the MG2004 convention in New Jersey. If interested, contact John Schroeder.
REPORTS
The treasurer’s report was given by Jim Evans.
Dave Ransom reported on regalia.
Toolmaster, Jim Evans, reported that the club purchased an exhaust gas analyzer.
The 50/50 raffle: was won by Barney Gaylord, $19. A T shirt was won by Kim Tonry, and Doug Clark won a pass to the Volo Auto Museum.
