from your President
Greetings Everyone,
By the time you read this, the Goebberts, Gonzales, Ann and I will be well on our way across the country to MG 2005. I hope to send an occasional update to our webmaster for posting in the What s New section of our web site. We will be experiencing some beautiful roads and scenery on the way. We should have pictures and stories for the August meeting.
Doug Clark reported the Healy club s gymkhanna was a lot of fun and well attended.
The Lands End Rally had ten cars participate. I heard from Mike Hirsch that Tom wrote an excellent rally and he had a good time. The picnic was well attended, with our members being joined by the British Boots and Bonnets and Vintage MG clubs.
The Father s Day tour to Blackhawk raceway didn t come off but several of our members drove up to see the races. A good time was had by all who attended. Jake and Ann Snyder worked the corners and had some good stories to tell at the meeting.
If you are in town July 6-9, try to make it to the GOF Central convention in Bloomingdale at the Pheasant Run resort. There will be a lot of MGs to see.
July 15-17 is the annual BRIC camping trip to the races at Road America. The Snyders have been coordinating this event for many years and this year promises to be as much fun and excitement as ever.
There is a CMGC Autocross at Cantera at 9:00 AM on July 24.
Mark your calendars for August 18-21, at Grand Rapids, MI for the University Motors Summer Party sponsored by John Twist.
Larry's Revenge Rally is scheduled for August 21, so an early departure from the Summer party would be in order if you like to rally.
I am working on the Wine, Cheese and Brew tour for September 17 and 18. If any enough of you are interested in an under the full moon presentation of Macbeth by The American Players, let me know and I will see about getting group rates.
Don t forget to check the Driveline and the website for upcoming events.
Hope to see all of you on the road soon!!
