The Steering Column
Well here it is late Sunday night after the Road America Camping trip weekend. We had a wonderful weekend once again. Very hot and humid but the friends and the racing more than made up for the little discomfort. For those of you that were unable to join us or had to leave early, You missed a very exciting end to the weekend. Just as the race started a huge dark cloud appeared on the horizon. By the time the 30 min race was over this cloud was dumping buckets of water on all of us in the paddock area. All of the racers were off the track at the time, but not all were in their covered areas yet. Made for a very exciting end to the day.
The next great weekend is NOW, Abingdon. If you still have not made up your mind about what to do the first weekend of August? Come down for a very fun filled weekend with friends and cars. You will not be disappointed. The disappointment will come if you don’t come and join us.
There are three CMGC events every summer that I will not miss if I have any control. You have just read about two of the three. The last is the British Car Festival in September. Next month I will write more on that event. There is another event that I think many of you may be interested in. That is the Fall Festival race up at Road America September 21-23. It is a smaller venue than this last weekend’s event but because of that you get to see up close and more personnal many great old race cars.
Until next moth (or driving event) “Safety Fast” to all of you.
