MGB Door Skin Tech Day
September 18, 2004 - Glen Ellyn, Illinois
It started with a big bang, or at least a big kick, to produce a good size dent to play with. Then a lot was done in a short time as we demonstrated use of the club’s new stud welder to pull dents, repaired a crack of doom, cut the skin off of a door and crimped a new door skin in place. And we finally tried out the new acetylene.air torch.
The door we used for repair demo was removed during Cowboy’s door replacement tech session last November, then recycled as the “door” prize at the Christmas party, and now recycled again for another tech session. The newly re-skinned MGB door will likely show up for sale at next February’s swap meet, and hopefully will also be recycled onto another MGB for continued street use. Some good old parts never die.
