Bill Mennell called the meeting to order at 8:16. There were 42 members and no guests in attendance. Three new members were attending there first meeting, Paul Watts, ‘57A and John and KileyEberhardt, ‘74B.
PAST EVENTS
Jim Evans reported on the Abingdon weekend, 9/24-26. The event went as planned with about 40cars and 75 people in attendance.
The Fall Color Tour was October 3rd. Only three cars attended.
The Abingdon Enduro trials were held on October 9 and 10. This was the third of the Triple Crown. It started in Columbus, and went through Kentucky and West Virginia. There were a total of 8 cars that ran all three events.
Our last autocross of the season was 10/17 in Joliet. We had 6 cars and 8 drivers.
As a follow up to our windshield tech session, the windshield cracked the next day.
UPCOMING EVENTS
Our Halloween Rally is going to be Oct 30th. It starts off from 4550 W Roosevelt in Hillside. Registration is at 4:30 and first car off is at 5:00. Costumes are requested.
Our fall tune down party will be Nov 14th at United Classic Motors at 1700 Quincy in Naperville. Note the new location.
Our 11/15 meeting will include nominations for next year’s officers. Please submit you recommendations at the meeting.
Our annual Cruise to the Rock will be 11/25, Thanksgiving Day. We will meet at 9:00. Contact Ann Snyder for details.
Our Christmas party will be 12/4. Details are in the Driveline or contact Dave Ransom.
STAFF REPORTS
Tools. Walt Wiborg used our tune up analyzer to have his car pass the emissions test. It worked fine and the car passed.
Treasurer’s Report. Jim Evans reported a balance of $9923.76 in our checking account and $5000 in savings.
Library. Two new additions, “How to Power Tune a Midget” and the MGB service manual on CD.
Regalia. Nothing new at this time. We are looking at new items for spring.
Tech Sessions. We are looking for tech sessions to be held over the winter months. We would like to have two per month.
NOMINATIONS
The nominations were opened for officers for 2005. Nominations made and seconded were: President, John Schroeder, nominated by Maynard Hirsch, seconded by Diana Gonzales. Vice President, Wade Keene, nominated by Don Anderson and seconded by Kim Tonry. Treasurer, Jim Evans, nominated by Barney Gaylord and seconded by Ann Snyder. No nominations were made for Secretary. The nominations will be closed at the end of the November meeting.
The 50/50 raffle was won by Bill Cole, amount of $31.00
After the meeting we had Cake and Champagne in honor of our anniversary.
