It is that time of year again, that you'll hear from the treasurer. The good news is that the annual membership contribution for your Chicagoland MG Club is still just $20. It has been $20 for a long time and the officers have decided to keep it the same for another year. However, you may not know that your 2008 membership is actually due on January 1st. This has been the case already for many years. It simplifies the administration tremendously if all members are due at the same date, the beginning of each calendar year. If you have only joined recently, we applied the $20 check to the remainder of 2007 as well as the entire calendar year 2008 and you don't need to renew. The other good news is that you can apply up to a maximum of 10 MG Bucks (half the dues) to your 2008 membership. To do so you must send in the MG Bucks voucher along with the check or cash for a total of $20. See the separate piece from Jim Evans elsewhere in this Driveline for details about MG Bucks. 
Last year we also formalized the steps to notify the members to renew the membership, and we'll follow these again for 2008. That means that you will receive up to four reminders to renew your membership: 1) this early bird notice that you're reading now. Get your dues out of the way before the Holiday rush and in time for the New Year. Send check to Chicagoland MG Club, P.O. Box 455, Addison, IL 60101. 2) If you haven't renewed by the January newsletter, you'll get a reminder along with a pre-printed envelope stapled in the Driveline. 3) We will also publish a final reminder in the February newsletter. 4) And lastly, if we have still not received your renewal before the March newsletter is mailed out, you will only get a notice and no more Driveline. We hope that many of you will use option one because that saves a lot of extra work and cost.
