Car Projects
Wally Szemprach noted that he is working on restoring two MGB’s with the assistance in bodywork from a company in Kenosha. He will keep us informed of his progress in coming months.
Dave Bralich shared an event that happened to him this week. While driving to work in his truck, he heard a thumping sound that got louder as he drove. After pulling over, he found a 3/8” drill bit sticking out of his tire. Dave noted that because the drill was impaled tip-first, he feels he could still salvage a perfectly good bit!
Past Events

Amtrak Trip – 1/19-21 – Final arrangements have been made for this weekend. This annual event sponsored by Ann & Jake Snyder will be leaving Union Station on Friday evening in route to Detroit, MI and returning Sunday afternoon.

16th Annual Swap Meet – 2/26 – Vic L’Heureux reminded the membership of this club fundraiser and asked for volunteers to assist in the show set-up, operation and take-down. A sign-up sheet was passed around for this effort. Vendor participation is ahead of schedule from previous years. We look forward to a good showing this year. Dave Bralich asked if there was to be a club booth for parts; if so, he would assist in ‘manning the booth’. The question will be forwarded to Jim Evans.
Staff Reports
Driving Events - 2012 will be a busy year for driving events. The major events scheduled for next year are: MG-2012 event (6/6-10), Jo Daviess Tour (6/29-7/1), 34th annual Midwest GOF (7/24-27), John Twist Party (8/17-19), Wine, Cheese &anp; Beer Tour (9/21-23). With this heavy schedule, there will possibly be fewer rallies and day tours scheduled next year. Joel-Paul Brossard noted that he is a new participant in autocross and feels this is a thrilling event and encouraged others to get involved. Driver and car race against time through a marked course, hardly ever getting past 1st gear. No special modifications are needed on your car and minimal safety equipment is required.
Library - Wilber Mennell noted that there are a few new books available for club members.
Regalia – George Phariss remarked that there are new items available on the website. The club will be purchasing some items to be sold at the February Swap Meet.
50-50 Raffle –
George Phariss went home $9 richer after having the winning ticket.
Meeting adjourned at 9:09 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Victor L’Heureux, CMGC Secretary
