A big thank you goes out to Jim Evans for once again doing an outstanding job of coordinating the Swap Meet. We had a record number of vendors this year and some really great traffic. As a club we wound up with some new members from the meet so we need to be sure and welcome them to our “family”. Teresa and Lisa did a great job managing the club table for the better part of the day. I hung out in the second building while Jim handled the main location. It was a whole lot of fun and I made a bunch of new friends.
I hope that all of you are winding up those final projects on your cars. I got the oil changed, tires checked and the inside all cleaned out. After I finished all the work I would up doing some other chores and by the time I got back for drive time it was too cold to be running around. Now that spring is here and we had our last rounds of snow (I hope) let’s get everything ready and hit the road.
For those of you waiting patiently, the Spring Tune-Up is once again at Quality Tire in Willowbrook. This is the 26th year that Mark has been kind enough to host us. Please be sure to thank him when you are out there!!! Our outing will be on Saturday, April 30th, 4:00-8:00 PM. We look forward to seeing you there.
One last thing, the monthly email blasts will begin starting in April. I am still in the process of building some distribution lists. There will be reminders of meetings, Natter ‘n’ Noggin and upcoming driving events and such.
Happy Motoring, -- -- Bill Reese

Spring is here I’m going to try something different. This year we will have a Progressive Garage Tour on Saturday June 11th.
It will follow the usual progressive format - start from someone’s house for some show and tell, have some refreshments and go to the next garage. The cool thing is if your car has a problem - not to fear because you’re with a group of folks that could inspect or maybe make repairs right on the spot. So that’s a really good reason to take your car out for a ride.
The tour will start up in the Northwest suburbs and will end at my house for hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and dip. And if the event turns out well, we'll have other dates for the Southwest and West suburbs. Just hope everyone will have a good time.
The planned itinerary is as follows:
10:00 am | - The first stop will be at Ray Hansen’s house, 1560 Thornberry Ct.,Libertyville, IL 60048. (Rts. 176 & 21). |
11:00 am | - Scott & Diana Kiederlen, 39578 N. Bishop Ct., Lake Villa, IL 60046. (Rts. 21 & 137 & 83). |
11:45 am | - George Phariss house, 21967 Vernon Ridge Dr., Ivanhoe, IL 60060. (Rts. 83 & 176) |
12:30 pm | - Russ & Amy Mehaffey, 2259 Trailside Lane, Wauconda, IL 60084. ( Rts. 59 & 22 & 14) |
1:15 pm | - Victor & Penny L’Heureux, 303 Inverness Dr., Cary, IL 60013. (Rts. 14 & 31) |
1:45 pm | - Dino & Lisa Perez, 3985 Peartree Dr., Lake in the Hills, IL 60156. |
