Monthly Meeting Minutes

Attendance: 26 members
Meeting was called to order by George Phariss with a few ceremonial whacks of the gavel at 2000 hrs.

Projects
Phil Wydra reported on a seat rebuild for his MGB
Tom Tovello reported that the total restoration on his 72 MGB is in-progress and has a completion date in late April.
Finance
Sheik Raoul chaperones Finance Minister Ralph (Odysseus) Arata and his wife on an extended odyssey across the country (apologies to Homer).
Financial info was reported by George, who stated that the club is in “good shape” but is looking at ways to bolster club revenues, as discussed at the monthly staff meeting.
Swap Meet
Kudos to Jim Evans and Victor L’Heureux and all the volunteers for set-up, vendor check-in, admissions etc. for another successful event. Swap meet netted approx $2600. Paying attendees were down by about 100 from 800 to 700. However, the vendors polled said their business was good. Options for increased marketing of the event moving forward were discussed.
George reported on the future Swap Meet date change from end Feb to end March starting in 2014.
George reported out on the issue of increasing club revenues through more advertising. Seth Jones will assist in this effort by contacting Moss Motors.

George reported on and facilitated discussion on included: Driveline costs & electronic voting (to save $) for officers.
George ended this discussion with a call for “more no-brainer ideas”
Library Update
Joel-Paul Brossard reported that local author and photographer Phil Aleo kindly donated a signed copy of his most recent work on the Meadowdale Raceway to the club Library. Joel has also arranged for Mr. Aleo to do a presentation on same at the club meeting in May.
Regalia
Looking for new vendors to cost effectively produce the next production run of car badges.
Website
Barney sez “doing well”. For all who missed it, the club website gets about 1,000 hits a day.
Facebook
Kim Tonry did a presentation on the CMGC Facebook page and its use.
Driving Events 2013
Reinout did an extensive review of the 2013 driving events calendar, with several of the events planned in consort with the Vintage Club (read-the more the merrier). Reinout is looking for someone to take the lead for the scheduled July 13 Garage Tour in the south ‘burbs. This was followed by ideas and discussion on opening certain of our events to other British car clubs.
50/50 Raffle
Reinout was the winner of $11.
