40 Members in attendance
CMGC president Dave Novak opened the meeting at 8:00 pm
Car Projects
Dave Bralich gave an update on the tech session held at his home recently. The task was to cut up a much used MGB racing car chassis that had been stripped of all usable parts. The goal was to cut the chassis to pieces utilizing a plasma cutter. The cutter malfunctioned and they had to resort to an air chisel. The chassis was reduced to cart-away pieces in minutes. The session was a good presentation of what exists inside the unibody frame of an MGB.
Dino Perez is starting a major restoration project on a recently purchased 1953 YB Sedan purchased from CMGC member Tom Webb. Dino states he plans on finishing in few months. Good luck Dino!
Doug Clark noted that he was working on his MGC roadster when the trunk lock assembly fell apart into the closed trunk. He spent some time trying to access the trunk via the method presented in a University Motors YouTube technical session that demonstrated how to open the trunk by accessing the interior latch assembly via an opening in the rear tail light. Doug had better success in trunk entry by going through a access hole provided by an after-market rear speaker hole in the trunk.
