Car Care Safety Clinic for Seniors
May 12, 2018
A sure sign of Spring is the Naperville and Lisle Townships TRIAD Free Car Clinic for Seniors, Saturday May 13, 2016 from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon at the Village of Lisle Public Works Facility, 4905 Yackley Ave., Lisle, IL 60532.
The safety clinic which provides a free 40-point safety inspection of vehicles driven by senior citizens (ages 50 and older). The event grows each year as the Triad organization’s outreach to seniors continues to expand.
Vintage and antique cars will again be on display; most are vehicles owned by our volunteer “car guys” who help perform the inspections. Chicagoland MG Club (CMGC) member Jim Vondran coordinates the Triad car safety clinics and really appreciates the enthusiastic participation of volunteers from the CMGC, the Chicago area Model T Club, and the Chicagoland Miata Club each year.
Please contact Jim directly at (630) 234-7102 to affirm your participation, either as an inspection team crew-member and/or displaying your vintage car, or just stopping by for a portion of the time so that our seniors can see your car while thei r vehicles are being inspected.

Spring Tour
May 18, 2018
We are going to do it all in one day—Friday, May 18th. We will rendezvous in Palatine at Billy’s Pancake House, 440 W. Northwest Hwy. We will leave there at 9am. If you want breakfast, plan accordingly. From there we will caravan on Hwy 14 to Woodstock. If you prefer to meet us in
Woodstock we will pick you up at Culver’s, 1620 W. Lake Shore Dr. (just off Hwy 14, southeast of town). From there we will proceed to Vintage Sports Car—a noted restoration and repair shop.
There has been a late breaking development. We may be having lunch at the farm of a CMGC member that lives close by. If that does not work out we’ll go into town for lunch on your own. There may be plenty of free time to explore the Square. Checkout the Art Center. At 1:30 we will gather for a tour of the historic Woodstock Opera House.
At 3:00 we will meet at the bandstand in the Square for a tour of the locations from the movie Groundhog Day. (Re-watch the movie. Don’t forget the extras.)
An early dinner is planned at the Public House That will be the end of the formal program. If you wish to stay overnight, a block of rooms has been reserved at the Hampton Inn in McHenry 815-578-1900 $109.00 1555 S. Route 31. April 18 is the release date.
Please let me know if and where you will be joining us. We don’t want to leave anyone behind. We will also need a head-count for the lunch.
