Monthly Column of Driving Events
This will be an easy Directionscolumn because there are so many 2011 Driving Events in the forecast. Browse through this issue of the Driveline and you should see a Driving Event just about every two weeks. That means that fellow club members have spent time and effort to prepare for a tour, rally, or autocross. And there is no better way to recognize their work than to come out and participate. There are always so many things that come up and compete with a day to drive your MG. But if you really plan for it, the chances that you'll be able to take the MG out increase significantly. And there is not much preparation other than to fill up the tank. There are no penalties if your MG is not all polished, waxed and show prepared. There are no penalties if it runs a little rough or idles somewhat irregular. And there are many helping hands just in case something technical may act up. I really hope to see many of you come and enjoy the 2011 Driving Events of your Chicagoland MG Club. Summer goes by real quick if you don't plan on enjoying it from the driver’s seat of your favorite MG.
Looking a little bit further out into July, there are two noteworthy things on the calendar. First is a joint rally with our friends from the Vintage MG Car Club of Chicago. Details will be in the next issue. Last year a few of our members participated and reported that they enjoyed the ride together with the older MG's. And for the weekend of July 15-17 the 2011 Driving Events Program offers two tours, at the same time. We will have a group for the Secrets of Jo Daviess County Tour and we have a group for the Road America Camping Trip to the historic races in Elkhart Lake, WI. The only MG's that you might find in Chicago that weekend are probably on jack stands.

Tool Lending Program
Reminder... We have a list of Loaner Tools that the Chicagoland MG Club owns and maintains for use by its members. The intention of the club is to procure and hold some of the more expensive tools that folks may be hesitant to buy for themselves because of the expense and the limited usage by any one person.
Check out the Tool Lending page on the club website for a list of the available tools and guidelines.
