Spring Chicken Run
Ivanhoe, IL
Sunday, May 20, 2012
I want to thank Bill Reese for hosting this in past years, so to keep the event going, Jana and I volunteered to host it at our house this year.
The drive starts from the Deer Park Town Center shopping mall at 9:30am. The mall is located at the north west corner of Hwy 12 (Rand Road) and Deer Park Blvd. This is just north and west of Lake Cook Road and Hwy 53. in Lake County. There is a Starbucks and a Panara Bread located close together in a section of the mall. It is where we will congregate and get the driving instructions for the drive to our house. We are located in Ivanhoe, which has a Mundelein post office address, and I have alerted the gatehouse to let the MG's pass in to our house. We are serving Chicken and everything else that comes with a hearty lunch. We will have pop, water, wine, and a few beers, all for the price of $7 per person just to help defray expenses. It would be good for some people to bring lawn chairs so everyone has a place to sit in the yard out-doors.
The planned driving route is just over 60 miles, takes about 2 hours, and there are some questions to be answered along the route, if you would like to try and win a prize! For those who can't make the drive, you are welcome to just show up at our house at around 11:30 and join in for the food and fellowship. Our address is: 21967 Vernon Ridge Drive, Ivanhoe, Illinois 60060. The home phone is 847-566-5075, cell number is 847-471-5062.
I would like to hear from you if you are planning to attend so that we can plan the food appropriately. We had 12 people sign up at the April meeting so the list has started. We are looking forward to seeing you here on the 20th of April!

NAMGBR’s MG 2012
June 6-10, 2012
Dillard, Georgia
MG 2012 is coming soon! This year is the 50th Anniversary of the MGB. We have three couples from Chicago going this year. We are leaving June 3rd, driving to-ward Afton, Virginia and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We will cruise the length of the parkway and continue to Dillard, Georgia. There are many fun events planned. Among the plans are a drive on the Tail of the Dragon to Deals Gap and a Georgia Wine Highway Guided Tour. The car show will be on Saturday, followed by the awards ban-quet. Check the MG2012 website for a complete listing of events and registration info at MG2012.com.
You do not have to be a NAMGBR member to attend. All MGs are welcome. There are sure to be Ts, As, Cs, as well as Bs’ Midgets, and 1100s. We always enjoy meeting with MG owners from the US and Canada. We have lots of fun on these trips and hope you will join us! If you are interested and would like further updates on the trip, email us at flobearsmg@comcast.net.
