Spring Tune-up
Don’s Auto Ade
Saturday April 21, 2018
It’s about time to put away the parkas, or rain coats, and break out the MGs. For the fifth year in a row Don’s Auto Ade hosted the CMGC’s spring tune-up. Starting at 12 noon we had access to up to seven lifts providing ample opportunity

get the the 23 cars up in the air and find out what’s wrong underneath.
As usual it was first come, first served. Club member’s MGs have priority, then other LBCs as time permits. No major projects were attempeted this year — only oil changes and a few tune-ups. Bob Lee took advantage of the using the alignment rig for his MGTD. A lot was accomplished in the 4 hours on-site … and only one oil leak caused by a misaligned oil filter.
Jim Compton brought in a barn-find MGB with hope to see if it was in good enough condition to be part of a restoration project. After removing off the trailer and pushing into the lift area, a full inspection was in progress. Many club members took part in checking out the engine space, undercarriage, suspension, drivetrain and interior. Unfortunately there were numerous area of concern for Jim to consider before moving forward with the project. Good Luck Jim!
