Car Care Safety Clinic for Seniors
May 11, 2019
A sure sign of Spring is the Naperville and Lisle Townships TRIAD Free Car Clinic for Seniors, Saturday May 13, 2016 from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon at the Village of Lisle Public Works Facility, 4905 Yackley Ave., Lisle, IL 60532.
The safety clinic which provides a free 40-point safety inspection of vehicles driven by senior citizens (ages 50 and older). The event grows each year as the Triad organization’s outreach to seniors continues to expand.
Vintage and antique cars will again be on display; most are vehicles owned by our volunteer “car guys” who help perform the inspections. Chicagoland MG Club (CMGC) member Jim Vondran coordinates the Triad car safety clinics and really appreciates the enthusiastic participation of volunteers from the CMGC, the Chicago area Model T Club, and the Chicagoland Miata Club each year.
Please contact Jim directly at (630) 234-7102 to affirm your participation, either as an inspection team crew-member and/or displaying your vintage car, or just stopping by for a portion of the time so that our seniors can see your car while thei r vehicles are being inspected.

MGs on the Oregon Trail!
May 16-19, 2019
LAST CALL FOR (MGs on) THE OREGON TRAIL!!
Per past issues of Driveline and Vintage Viewpoint, CMGC and VMGCC are driving our MGs to and around the Rock River Valley for a spring overnight trip. IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO SIGN UP (but don't leave it too late...)!
FIRST...contact the Paddle Wheel Inn - our base motel - (815) 732-0900. Tell them you are with the MG car clubs. (They MIGHT have rooms available at the rate given to us; the block of rooms was released on 4/17/19, however.)
THE MOTEL HAS A 72-HOUR CANCELLATION POLICY.
THEN...after you have made your room reservation (whether for one, two, or three nights) - LET ME KNOW (mgtbc@sbcglobal.net), as I will then need to know the weekend before whether to include you for dinner on Thursday and Saturday nights, and breakfast on Sunday morning.
As of late April, we have 15 cars (27 people).
As mentioned in the 4/25/2019 e-mail blast, at this stage the itinerary / agenda is likely to be:
