A MG Midget MK I on Campground De Petit Post, in Les Houches, France
Notes from Reinout
Les Houches is a small village in the French Alps, very close to the famous Mont Blanc and on one of the acres roads to the Mont Blanc tunnel. I couldn’t find the campground anymore on Google and Google maps. The Midget in the photo is next to the only set-up with a small traditional tent. In fact, it looks more like just a shelter which might have been all that the MG driver was able to carry. Maybe there wasn’t even room for a folding chair as the MG owner is laying on the grass right be-hind his or her Midget. The square tents were called ‘bungalow tents’ back home in the Netherlands when they first came out. They were much larger, also when packed, and much heavier and required vehicles with a larger trunk or a roof rack (which you can just notice on the Simca in the back row).
