Dear Readers,
Thank you for your appreciation of my first issue. I hope again
the Reader sees a high level of layout and content matching and perhaps
building upon the superlative achievement of my predecessor, Bill Reece,
who, as I see now, put in a yeoman‘s service for three years, as well as
revamping the format. Now that I have mastered the software to an extent
necessary to achieve the rudiments of publication, I hope to discover the
artistic potential (?) of Publisher, and create a Monthly Masterpiece!
Well, seriously, I am really looking to beef up the photo- and
reader interest-content. But that‘s going to require more pages, especially
hopefully in color, more cost, and more postage. That means more advertising.
To that end, I have some ideas, but that‘s got to be cleared with the
Board. In the meantime, I am finding that, even with the fairly prompt and
active support of the contributors, the thing soaks up hours – enjoyable
hours – of time, even with the software now fairly in hand. But, once
again, I apologize for the lateness—next time hopefully better.
I would like to make special thanks this and each month for those
who take the time and trouble to contribute their articles, column, write up
their experiences or remember to take photos at events, or in so many
ways help ensure a quality Driveline!
