A letter sent to Richard Meservey at the conclusion of the Highland Games held in Hamilton Lakes, Itasca, Illinois. There were two members from the Chicagoland MG Club and one member from the Vintage MG Car Club of Chicago.

Dear Richard,

Thank you for participating in the British car show at the 2014 Scottish Festival and Highland Games. Without your participation, this segment of the Games would not be the success it is.

  Twenty three cars participated this year. This is a significant increase from last year. We know that the improved weather was an important factor. We also hope that you are enjoying the Games and the Hamilton Lakes environment as well as the car show. Several of you told me that you were encouraging your friends to attend so we hope this will result in growing interest in the show in future. If you have any suggestions on how we can improve the show and/or your experience, please let me know

  We passed out about 200 ballots and 189 visitors took the time to look at the cars and vote. We think the car show; along with the piping competition was a great introduction to the Games for our visitors.

  The first place winner was the red Hillman Minx landau. Second place went to the light blue Aston Martin DB MK III and third place went to the black MGB convertible with the Route 66 route markers in the boot. Congratulations to all of the winners in this visitor’s favorite event.

  We will have a car show and Highland Games on the third weekend in June 2015. I will be sending out Save the Date and other information to you and look forward to seeing you at next years Games.
