Continuing after lunch, the countryside began to unfold with big skies, beautiful scenery and winding roller coaster-like roads. We had a mid-afternoon stop at Spurgeon Winery to wet the whistle. The day ended with a dinner at Hi Point Steak House. Winners of the driving challenge were announced Winners: Phil & Sandy Wydra, Bill & Jean Kalafut and Rich Meservey & Sundy Mead. John Kearns also won a prize for guessing the amount of deer seen by Tim and Ray on the initial run of the tour.
Tractor caravan meets vintage car caravan...David & Goliath?
What a great ride...
Sunday, we were back on the road for a truly great leg of the trip. “Every road was better than the last. Beautiful scenery, great weather and lots of fun” remarked Bill Kalafut. “We did 25 mph S curves at 40 mph.” The tour ended at Baumgartner’s Cheese House in Monroe, WI.
Steve Sparks extends a special thank you to everyone who helped push the midget due to starter issues – especially Dean Hickenlooper for assisting in the last minute shredded fan belt change on Sunday Morning.
And of course, a very special THANK YOU to Jamie & Tim Schafer (and Dolly) and Ray & Sue Hansen for an outstanding job facilitating this outstanding tour and all the coordination involved.
