MGAs on show in Solvang, CA

NAMGAR BBQ in the park
|
To wrap up the month we spent parts of 5 days, 4 nights attending the NAMGAR GT-42 in Solvang, CA. All the normal stuff on campus, a few tech sessions, hospitality suite, car show, awards banquet. On the road a bit, there was a road rally, a trip to tour Moss Motors west coast facilities in Goleta, CA, and a BBQ in the park several miles away.

While returning from the BBQ one of the MGAs blew a core plug and showered the MGA following with antifreeze (for which I had a spectacular view from the third space back). I then got to tow the failed car about four miles back to the hotel, followed by a quick installation of a new core plug while half a dozen people enjoyed the impromptu tech session. All in all, a rather typical gathering of a couple hundred MGs.

Now the day after, we have our nose pointed north for a substantial trek. We have a tentative appointment for 4th of July parade in Anchorage, Alaska, which means something like 3500 miles in 10 days about 60 hours of road time. Hang in there, and we will let you know if we make it.
