Club Car Work Begins!
Our Tech Coordinator, Steve Skegg, has graciously volunteered to host, and manage the restoration of the Club's newly acquired MG-B-GT! Work will begin this weekend at Steve's garage.
We will be looking for members who are interested in helping out. No special knowledge is required, because we want this to be a learning opportunity for all club members, at all skill levels. What better way to learn the in's and out's of an MG than under the watchful tutelage of the club's own master mechanic? It doesn't hurt that Steve's garage is also heated and air-conditioned!
List of work sessions: (order determined by availability of parts & manpower)
Windscreen replacement
Interior install – interior upholstery, seat belts, door locks
Brake/ Clutch hydraulics. - Checkout/repair
Engine / drive train refurbish - fluids change, prop shaft reversal & connection, fuel pump swap, radiator support & tray install & getting it started.
Body, clean, paint touch up etc.

Workers can expect to turn wrenches, and get as hands-on as they like, in a relaxed atmosphere. Steve has all the tools needed, so the only thing you'd need to bring is your enthusiasm! Since we'll be working on an old car, wear cloths that you don't mind getting dirty.

Westmont Cruisin' Nights & Street Fair
Westmont, Illinois
Thursday, August 20, 2015 - 5:00–9:00 pm
SHINE UP YOUR CAR & COME SHOW IT OFF at the Westmont Street Fair, featuring the Chicagoland MG Club, Thursday, August 20th from 5:00 – 9:00 pm.
Same as last year but bigger! Last year's Westmont Street Fair, with it's tasty food, and unique "Walking" Rally, was such a success that we're doing it again! This year, the Westmont Street Fair has increased in size and is averaging over 150 cars per night!!
This is not your typical Cruisin’ Nights. Westmont has expanded their Cruisin’ Nights into a weekly Street Fair featuring children’s activities, live music, food, drinks, special events, and a great deal of fun. The event is held in Downtown Westmont on Cass Avenue. Cass Avenue will be closed from the Metro tracks (Burlington Ave.) north to Naperville /Chicago Ave. to provide plenty of Classic Car parking.
MG “People’s Choice” award will be given again this year. We will also have another short MG Walking Rally with a different twist than last year. Both will earn club points. For anyone interested, we will meet for dinner (location TBD) around 7:00 pm after the Rally.
Cars start arriving around 4:30. All cars should enter the event at Norfolk and Cass. Norfolk is 2 blocks north of Burlington Avenue and 1 block south of Naperville/Chicago Avenue. If you are unable to arrive that early, you are still welcome and can pull in any time during the event.
We will be located on the street this year and not in the parking lot like last year. Please let me know if you are planning to attend so I have an idea of how many spaces we will need so all the cars can be parked together.
