Autocross

Well the July 9th auto cross was a big success. 4 MGs battled it out against the time clock. David Novak was able to take my spot as I was under the weather and unable to attend (food poisoning). Dean Hickenlooper was back running after his blown head gasket prior to the June Autocross. Looks like we may have had a new participant. Welcome Zack.
David took best time for the MGs with Tim Schafer only 1.2 seconds behind him. Dean was battling with Tim for 2nd place but fell 0.6 seconds for third place and Zack had a very good day Only 2.9 seconds slower than David.

Our last autocross for the 2016 season is Sunday August 21st. Looks like most everyone is adjusting to the new registration process. Remember to register 2 weeks before the event (August 7th). The autocrosses have been full each and every time this year. So register early if you plan to attend.

The points contribution for Autocross towards the club trophies is being adjusted to be more fair. You will get 2 points for participation in each auto cross. PLUS, If there are 3 or more MGs competing, 1st place will get an additional 1.5 points, 2nd place will get 1 additional point and 3rd place will get an additional half point. If only 2 MGs compete 1st place will drop to 1 additional point, and second to an additional half point. If only one MG is competing that driver will get only an additional half point.


LAST RUN will be on August 21, 2016 Miata Autocross IV—Boomers Stadium, Schaumburg, IL.
