Garage Tour and Morris/MG Picnic
July 16, 2016
You never know what hidden treasures are hiding in the garages of suburbia. We had a glimpse of a few gems in this years’ Garage Tour arranged by Phil Wydra in conjunction with the Vintage MG Car Club annual picnic at Ray house in Gurnee.

Our trip started at the home of Bob and Marianne Anderson located in Barrington, IL. Bob has an eclectic assortment of motor vehicles and motorcycles nestled into a 6-car (or were there more?- hard to tell…) carriage house with a wood shop and lounge in the loft displaying many items of racing memorabilia and aircraft models.
It took a good hour to review all the holdings and gaze on the award-winning vehicles parked there.
It took a while to gather the group 45+ away from the exhibits to hold a quick drivers’ meeting. Phil noted that this tour would not have any questions to answer, or time schedule – just a leisure drive between locations on the tour before heading north to Gurnee for a picnic. We were told to put our tops down, soak in the delightful weather and enjoy the ride..
