The Library Muse
It’s a little early to think about Thanksgiving, but I think that thanks are in order to the Schroeder's for hosting the Wine, Cheese and Beer Tour for the last ten years. Deb and I have been on all of them and have always enjoyed them immensely, this year being no exception. Excuse me for mixing my metaphors, but whoever picks up the baton has large shoes to fill.
Also thanks to Steve Skegg for his presentation on winterizing/storage at the September meeting. One thing mentioned that I would like to expand upon is preparing the interior and boot. After a good cleaning and using dryer sheets or moth balls for rodent/pest protection, place a desiccant inside for moisture control. Dino likes to use the little silica gel packets that come with shoes, clothing and the like, but I prefer the larger reusable containers. Some get renewed in the oven while another type ‘recharges’ by plugging it into an electric socket. Either should last at least a month between re-charging. I’ll bring samples to the October meeting. Meanwhile there are still plenty of good driving days left so don’t be in too big of a hurry to store your MG.
No books this month but we should have a couple of dandies for next time.
