in Minneapolis MN, just missed Eau Claire British Car in Eau Claire WI by a few hours, World Wide Auto Parts in Madison WI
(rebuilding shock absorbers), Sports Car Madison in Madison WI (service and restoration of LBC), and Victor L'Heureux's personal garage in Crystal Lake IL (for the second time where I was rebuilding my gearbox again). Include please the car club workshop of British Iron Touring Club of NW Arkansas in Rogers AR, and Fine Line Auto in Wichita KS (a reseller who occasionally restores an MG or two). We also stopped momentarily to visit H & H Motor Co in Wichita (closed for vacation, but we may get back here later). We got to visit A+ Collision Repair in Topeka KS (lots of LBC get painted here).
For personal visits we got to see Jim Casper with an MGA 1600-MK-II (needing a tune up) in Billings MT, Rex and Linda Byerly in Williston ND (MGA, '55 T-bird, '47 International P/U), Paul and Sue King in Bismarck ND (MGA 1600 resto project, Datsun 280ZX), Gregg and Neil Eriksmoen in Fargo ND (Austin Healey 100), Bob Jensen in St Paul MN (MGA tune up). We met for lunch with Troy Kopischke from Hamel MN while we were in Delafield WI (a twisted story), George Goeppner (MGA Coupe) in Orland Park IL, Alan Kleinschmidt in Bloomington IL (MGA 1600, late model MGB, '67 Mustang), Bob Nogueira from Dallas TX (known from Brit Run To The Sun trip in 1997), Lann Mauck (and wife) in Catoosa OK
(MGB GT with failed condenser), Harry Price in Rose Hill KS ('84 Jaguar XJSC, multiple TR3's), a few friends of Harry (with MGA, GB, TR3).
On Sept 22 while hanging out at one of our WiFi spots in Lawrence, Kansas, we were "found out" when someone spotted the MGA in the car park and called the local TV station. Then there was a reporter type bloke with a camera wanting to do an interview, and this popped up as a one minute video on the local news in the Lawrence, Kansas area.
You can see the video at: http://6lawrence.com/news/local-news/15921-cross-country-father-and-son-duo-help-fix-brokedown-cars.
Tonight (Fri 9/25) we will be at a dinner meeting with
Flatwater Austin Healey Club in Nehawka NE. Then you wouldn't believe where we intend to go in the next 10 days!
