The most popular club “Non-Driving” event is about ready to take place. If you have not made your plans yet, you need to hurry to assure a place at the Christmas party on December 7th. This year’s event looks to be another good one. There will be lots of friends there to meet and catch up with. Thanks to Dave Novak, this year’s door prizes look to be better than ever and the gift exchange grab bag is always fun. All you have to do to participate is bring a gift ($10 suggested) for the grab bag table and you are in. If you come as a couple, and each bring a gift, then you both get to participate. Sue and Ralph Arata are coming early to decorate in seasonal British fashion. Victor will be the MC for this year’s event. Something new this year, will be the presentation of Driving Awards by Reinout Vogt. Also, after a several year absence, the Abingdon Players will be making a visit. It should be a great night. But, best of all, is the chance to visit with fellow MG friends. We hope to see you there.
As many of you know, the last meeting of the year was the November meeting, and we completed the nomination process for officers. The one open position VP has two nominees. Both Victor L'Heureux and John Kearns make excellent candidates and either will do a great job as VP. I am looking forward to the VP job being filled.

And since I am on that subject, I heard from our past VP, Joel Paul Brossard, who moved to the beautiful Bellingham Washington area. He has joined the NW Centre MG Club and also the Mt Baker MG Car Club. He has been on several drives and enjoys the amazing MG roads available there. He swears by the Mt Baker road to “Artists point”. He recommended that I ‘google’ it, which I did and it looks like a great drive!! Glad to hear that his MG is running strong and that he has joined two active clubs.
This December issue of the Driveline has your ballot as well as your club membership renewal form. We are looking forward to another good year and hope that you will rejoin. The January meeting will have a presentation by Doug Clark, discussing his experiences with his insurance company concerning flood damage to his cars and how he navigated the process. We will also be discussing the upcoming Swap meet to be held in March and the 2014 driving events. The other January event that we are looking forward to is the annual train trip to Detroit. This year the group will visit the Detroit International Car Show. It is always a fun adventure hosted by Ann and Jake Snyder. Look at the club web site for details.
