Hello Everyone!!

We are now 2 months into a New Year and with any luck and much hopeful anticipation, Covid19 will settle down, numbers will continue to decline in positive testing and businesses and public areas will open so we can get on with our lives and start organizing some DRIVING EVENTS!!!!! “WOOT WOOT” !!!

February is a bittersweet month. Bitter due to the wintery weather that always seems to take its course….snow and FREEZING cold temps…….SWEET, because we can shower our “lovies” with Flowers, candies, cookies and treats shaped in pretty little hearts for Valentine’s Day!!!!! A Valentine’s Day card is always nice to receive too!

I am pleased to announce that I have generated the 1st Version of our MG Driving Event Calendar for 2021!! It’s a bit sparse right now, but I KNOW it will fill up within the next few months!!!!

There are a few events scheduled, the 1st event of the year being the Spring Tune up scheduled on the BEST DAY EVER in April….MY BIRTHDAY….Saturday April 17th!!! Wilbur, I will show up for a piece of Birthday cake, Thank you!!! Oh…and all who attend can sing me HAPPY BIRTHDAY (no gifts please)!!!!! LOL!!! All details will be in next month’s issue, Dave Novak’s weekly email blast and on the website.

I think this will be the biggest turn out ever, (because it’s my birthday!), but seriously, because everyone is READY TO GET OUT and get their cars ready to GO GO GO!!!!!!

I did receive notice from members who will be organizing and hosting events that are on the calendar for May. I will talk about those events next month. I don’t want to get ahead of myself and I need something to write about next month!! It’s so exciting to be able to write in dates on our calendar again!

I really hope to hear from members wanting to organize and host a driving event. Nevertheless, we WILL ALL HAVE OUR PRECIOUS MG’s out on the road again come this spring!!!

TIME FOR MY “GIMMICK” for the Pandemic season – FEBRUARY FUN FACTS “(my ongoing monthly article filler)”

February is mostly recognized for Valentine’s Day, flowers, Candy and depending on where you are, being incredibly cold!

February fluctuates between having 28 and 29 days per year. The 29th day only occurs every 4 years during leap years.

In the Northern Hemisphere, February is the third month of winter. Meanwhile in the Southern Hemisphere, February is the last month of summer. Between the North and South Hemispheres, February is the equivalent

February is the only month where it’s possible to go the entire time without having a full moon.

The odds of being born on February 29th are about 1 in 1,461. Those born on a leap day can be called a “leaper” or “leapling”.

It was in February 1964 when The Beatles made their first American television appearance on the “Ed Sullivan Show.” Over 73 million Americans watched!

On February 2, 1848, U.S. and Mexico signed the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo which ended their war. The U.S. paid Mexico $15 million in exchange for California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, and Texas.
