Chicagoland MG Club: Driveline June 2022

The North American MMM Register is celebrating the 90th anniversary of the J-Types, which came out in 1932. There was a four-seater J1 (open tourer and Salonette), the epic J2 two seater with cycle wings and later with swept wings, the supercharged J3 and a dedicated race car, the J4.

This illustration by artist Colin Ashford beautifully depicts the J2’s spirited driving capability for the driver while the passenger enjoys the scenery pass by at high speed. The card was published by Santoro Graphics Ltd. in England.

An ‘Auto’biography of History

On the back cover...

A rubber bumper MGBGT in Woodbridge, Sussex, about 90 miles Northeast of London just inwards from the North Sea coast. The car behind the MG looks like a first-generation Ford Escort. No more MGBGTs where brought to the US after 1974, but the model continued in the factory line up until the factory closure in 1980.
