Where did the summer go? This is the
question I’ve been hearing recently and don’t
really have an answer. June was wet and July
was hot. We got a reprieve in August for a
few days but for the most part, the weather did
not cooperate much. Of course, COVID-19
had a lot to do with not spending time driving.
My car got on the road only a few times just to get out of the house and
feel the air blowing over my head. Didn’t really have a destination since most
places to stop were too crowded and I was trying to comply with the pandemic
rulings. So “Ridin' along in my calaboose ... crusin' and playin' the radio with no particular place to go” (sorry Chuck Berry).
It is now September and there still are plenty of fair evenings to go for a
drive. So how about it, pack a light snack, load up the car with blanket and
maybe some chairs and head out to an area where you can set up a small picnic
and maybe watch a sunset. With it getting darker sooner, you could still get
home at a decent hour. I guess Summer ending won’t be that bad after all.
See you on the road…
