What does September mean to you? To me it means get your car back on the road for the final few scheduled events of the year. This summer was hot, not the best for top-down crusin’ – even with the suntan lotion lathered on – but at least we had some event to participate in. This month is no exception. Why not try to make the MIRPA show in Carpentersville on the old Meadowdale Racetrack site? The site has a unique history, and it is right in our backyard! Check out the article in this month’s Driveline. To finish out the weekend participate in the Annual British Car Festival at Harper College (north parking lot). As in the past 34 years the British Car Union (of which the CMGC is a founding member) has sponsored this event to promote all British cars (and cycles) – past and present. There is quite a display of cars to look at and maybe you’ll see something that will entice you to get involved with this organization. But wait..there’s more! We are not yet done with the events for this year. Come out to Garage Tour of Jeff Powell in Melrose Park. So much to see in a small space. I though my garage was full of stuff, but Jeff has me beat.
