At the August meeting, Jeff Powell described what he carries with him on most of his road trips. The cool thing is that a majority of the items fit into hidden niches in the MG. A convenient location is the unused battery compartment that is vacant when a battery system was changed from a two 6-volt system to a single 12-volt system. A battery box fits snuggly in this space and provides a dry location for your emergency parts. The rest of the stuff could be stuffed into a used gym bag and stored in the boot.
