Winter Storage Check List

This list of check points is from a combination of various sources and should provide you with a comprehensive list of things to check before retiring for the winter.. You may not need all the items but it is best to be aware of what should be done and you can choose what seems best for you and your car.

... Under carriage - Wash
... Check Radiator Level & Condition
... Brake/Clutch Level & Condition
... Dashpot Oil
... Lubricate all hinges & latches
... Torque Lug Nuts - 65 ft lbs.
... Battery cables clean
... Battery water level
... Body Exterior – Wash / Waxed
... Tires and Rims – Clean (remove all brake dust)
... Clean Windows (RainX)
... Clean Body Interior
... Clean Boot (trunk)
... Glove Box – Clean out
... Soft Top - Up - Clean
... *Tire Pressure (40lbs)
... *Air in Spare (40lbs)
... Add Sta-Bil (6 oz) or SeaFoam (1pt)
... Drive 10-20 miles
... Fill Gas tank
... Place tarp on ground / Park over tarp
... Block of wood under wiper blade frames
... Cover Air Vent
... Remove / Disconnect Battery
... Attach Trickle-charger
... DO NOT set Hand Brake
... Set transmission in neutral
... Roll car back and forth 2 feet.
... *Wheel chocks
... Moth Balls or Dryer Sheets in Engine compartment
... Steel Wool (rags) in tailpipe
... Car cover on

NOTES:
* If storage is more than a few MONTHS.

... Lower Tire Pressure (20lbs) – don’t forget the spare
