Refurbishment Project
Dean Hickenlooper

Ever thought of taking on a refurbishment project? Well Dean Hickenlooper did. Following is a brief pictorial of the progress so far.

Wood shop 101. Mga hood (top) frame header fabrication !

The interior is done. Now to address the exterior accessories--like the top. The headliner needed to be reconstructed so to the woodshop to fabricate the headliner. Not too difficult.

With the headliner complete, it was time to address the refurbished top frame. Again not too difficult, just a little time-consuming. The results were satisfactory. The true test will be during a rainstorm!

Since the car was essentially scrapped to begin with, no title was available. Registering the vehicle in a different state with less title restraints, the car was titled and transferred to Illinois. Still awaiting the new registration plates.

Hood (top) frame reconditioned & New hood going on.

I’ll be posting more on the restoration projects in next month's issue.

Until then, Let’s keep ‘em on the road!
