Halloween Rally

October 24th dawned dark and scary... In order to survive you only needed to dress up, get out of your house, and drive on the haunted roads of the CMGC Halloween Rally! The threat of rain became real but a motley crowd of 14 cars met the challenge thrown down by Phil & Sandy Wydra and Crew.

We launched from The Arboretum in South Barrington after entertaining the patrons (and each other) at Starbucks. The testing started immediately with a very clever map challenge - Can you recognize the outline of New York state, let alone identify where Amityville is? (Well, I did and didn’t at the same time.) Everyone should know the Mother Country of England and our MGs birthplace of Abingdon, right

We proceeded to meander around nearby horse-country estates. - or were they Zombie habitats? This "scary" group couldn’t have been that intimidating because we were chased away by a group of Boy Scouts that occupied the first challenge stop. Undeterred, Phil and his Support Crew segued to a nearby venue where a few skill and knowledge tests awaited. Participants either got great point rewards or were humiliated with zero results (at least I was humiliated on one).
